These self-mailing tri-fold brochures were developed to promote TCS World Travel’s new and ongoing Uncharted series of single-country private jet and private air journeys. Uncharted China represents the latest look and feel of these brochures.
The goal of these brochures is to sell each trip out in a minimum of two very targeted mailings each. These trips are very popular among past and current guests of TCS World Travel.
My role was to conceptualize, design, write, produce, pre-press, proof and press-check the finished pieces. Additionally, I coordinated all components of each mailing with the help of a database coordinator. This work included but was not limited to audience identification, mail dates, list acquisition, and approval of postage and postal services.
I worked closely with professional photographers, departmental leadership, executive directors and an in-house editor. All but the Uncharted China brochure were produced without art direction. Uncharted China represents TCS’ first Uncharted brochure produced under the guidance of and input from its new art director.
I used photography sourced from stock agencies and a worldwide network of travel photographers that I have cultivated throughout my years in the industry.
Each of these brochures were printed and bound in Seattle by DCG One.
Following the publication of each brochure, I worked closely with an in-house digital designer to translate the brochure to a series of web pages on TCS’ main site. This included additional copywriting, photography acquisition and web-specific asset production on my part.
To develop and complete these brochures, I used a combination of pencil sketches, research, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Word during multiple rounds of proofing and design modification.
